Crash Landing

Launching young children into the world of engineering

Crash Landing is an initiative focused on inspiring young girls to engage with engineering, pioneered by Women in Engineering in collaboration with The University of Sheffield. Women in Engineering asked Field to produce a series of interactive games, a website and an animation to help promote the iniative.

Based on an existing book, written by the Women in Engineering team, we built on the existing narrative and re-imagined the characters in a contemporary and playful way with friendly features and vibrant colour. We developed these characters into a series of in-browser interactive games which play on the visual language of the classic arcade, creating an intuitive, accessible gameplay experience that considers how young people play and learn.
