Sheffield Digital Festival is a celebration of the creative and digital communities in Sheffield, echoed in the statement ‘Where creativity meets technical excellence’. Hosted by us in collaboration with Sheffield.Digital, each year the festival centres around a different focus, hosting talks, presentations and experiences that showcase what design and technology can do when they are brought together.
The digital nature of the festival is reflected in the way we push marketing content, which is communicated predominantly on social media and on the SDF website. The site is designed to be simple and clean and features vivid screen based colour which is refreshed each year. We play with scale and iconography to create a playful site that engages and communicates to the desired audience.
Building on the idea of digital community, we have developed characters from simple shapes which work as mascots throughout SDF content, creating a friendly, welcoming tone within a sometimes cold industry.
